My goal is to serve God and through him to be of service to the church and the children within it. Each child should have the opportunity to learn about Christ and the Salvation he offers to each one of us, I want each child to grow in Christ and to have the passion and desire to follow Christ as he commands. Ultimately, my mission is to teach every child about Christ; as it is stated in Matthew 28, verses 19 and 20, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” It is by these words that I center my ministry and remind myself that we are all here for one purpose, to share the Gospel of Christ.
As the children's minister at Berea Baptist Church, with experience in International missions work and a Masters of Religious Education obtained from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (Fort Worth, Tx) in 1997, the ministry has been present in every decision and part of my life. From growing up in Berea to becoming head of the children's department, I have repeatedly seen the importance of fellowship, discipleship, and most of all, spreading the gospel of Christ. The opportunity to pass on my understanding of Christ and teach the gift of salvation to every child is my sole purpose as a servant to Christ and in my role as a children's minister.
